Yearbook is a process
Start your yearbook off right by planning now to attend Sound Yearbooks. There’s no better way to train rookie staffers in the basics of yearbook and prepare the editors for their expanded roles.
You’ll have access to so much important information — and you’ll definitely be inspired by the examples shared. It’s an invaluable step as you start making plans for your next book.
We’ll cover fundamental yearbook skills and so much more. Learn how powerful photography, compelling stories, innovative coverage strategies and fresh design ideas work together to become an invaluable time capsule of the school year.
Whether you’ll be writing, taking photos or designing spreads, you’re a journalist. You tell stories, focusing on the people, moments and memories that capture the year — and the workshop will provide the design principles, writing tips and photo advice you need to make your next book the best one ever.
IT’S TIME TO BEGIN.
The magic of yearbook doesn’t just happen. The yearbook staff plans, creates and revises for months before the first pages are ready to submit. Your work will be treasured not just when the books arrive on campus, but indefinitely as the readers return to the YBK again and again to bring the year back to life.
As editors, advisers and staffers, you balance the privilege of capturing memories and telling stories with the responsibility of creating an accurate and inclusive history and the challenge of finding new ways to make each volume fit the coverage year.
In yearbook, creativity and skills are intertwined;
it takes both inspiration and information to be ready to yearbook NOW AND FOREVER!
